The Durmus lab is currently recruiting scientists to fill different roles within the laboratory. Our lab prioritizes inclusion and diversity to achieve excellence in research and to foster an intellectual climate that is welcoming and nurturing. Positions are available for energetic, self-driven, and passionate researchers (postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and visiting scholars). Candidates are expected to be technically competent in a discipline relevant to our mission and vision.

Postoctoral Fellows

We seek postdoctoral candidates with backgrounds in Engineering (Bioengineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, etc.), Biology, Genetics, or Chemistry. We are looking for researchers with background/interests in these specific areas: magnetics, magnetic materials and devices, nano-bio materials, microfabrication and device design, and cell sorting. Experience in single-cell transcriptomic analysis or bioinformatics is a plus. Experience in machine learning, image, and video analysis/processing is a plus. Successful applicants possess a variety of qualities, including great interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

We value motivation more than prior experience in any particular field. Exceptional individuals who do not match these descriptions exactly will also be considered. Full application should include a research portfolio (research/work experience, technical skills, publications, patents, etc.), a cover letter describing your scientific interests and potential resonances with our research, and your CV.

For inquiries about joining our group, please contact Prof. Gozde Durmus gdurmus@stanford.edu
